Have you read anything about adding audio to your site?
I've been seeing a lot of email promotion by a lot of
respected names talking about how adding audio was boosting
sales.
I'm always interested in boosting sales, so I thought I'd
test it for myself.
I ran an A/B split test between two sales pages for one of
my products. In an A/B/ split, you split the traffic
exactly in half and send half to one web page and half to
the other. Then you track to see which page makes more
sales.
It's a very simple way to determine the effectiveness of
any element of your sales page. It's important that
everything on the two pages remains exactly the same except
for the one factor you are testing.
I ran an A/B split for one of my sites where I added an
audio guarantee. When people scroll down to the guarantee
part of the sales letter, an audio pops up and the visitor
hears me personally talk about the iron clad guarantee for
the product.
***** The Results *****
In a nutshell, the audio page won.
After slightly less than 100 sales, the page with the audio
guarantee sold 57% and the page without sold 43%.
Put another way, if I had audio on both pages, I would have
made another $240 in profit during the week I ran the test.
Now that's interesting to me!
You can bet I'll be using it more in the future. In fact, I
have added audio to the CBmall sales page as well. (That's
not the page I tested it on.) You can hear it for yourself
at:

I have audio messages at the top and an audio version of
the guarantee towards the bottom. I chose to add the audio
guarantee because CBmall has a pretty unique guarantee and
I didn't think people were really paying attention to it.
