My name is J. Richard Kirkham. Rick to my friends I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a dual teacher certification. Physical Education and Physical Education for Special Education. I've been in martial arts now a little over 30 years I've been trained in several kung-fu and karate styles and did a little boxing.
My degree is in physical education with a background in Movement Education, Exercise Phys, Kinese, Alternative Teaching Methods, Behavior Modification with an emphasis on Positive Reinforcement Methodology

I spent four years self-employed full time as an in home tutor specializing in students with behavioral problems primarily ADD and ADHD and an in home self-defense instructor having to develop a variety of drills to keep my hard to focus students' attention

As I thought, researched and experimented with methods of teaching martial arts and self-defense, I began thinking of scientific reasons for the mysteries in martial arts such as internal energy strikes. As I believe that anything is trainable, I combined my education background with my martial arts background and developed a method, if assuming it exists, to increase internal energy in a person's punches and kicks. I also utilized my slightly ADHD brain and broke strikes down to drills that do not even involve strikes

This time using the power of the internet to say with video what would have taken longer using just words. I combined them both

I spend most of my evenings now, when I've not giving private self-defense lessons or tutoring, with my wife Jan and my six year old son Hunter in Honolulu HI.
My wife wasn't the first lady I dated. I've been trained in sales and have been in a sales related health field over 15 years now. When I agreed to help a friend just starting a dating service I was surprised to find out that most guys did not really know how to sell themmselves to a date and then keep that special lady by not acting like a caveman.
Thus I wrote Getting to and Through Dates to Meet And Impress That Special Someone by J. Richard Kirkham B.Sc. Behavioral Modification and Sales Expert.

As my son grew and my family's time needs became greater it became harder and harder to find time to workout. I'm 47 years old as I write this. When my son wants to play I want to make sure I have the energy to say yes and not have to look at his face wIn I say I'm too tired or I'm too busy.
