Have you ever clicked through to a website from a search engine or a recommended link and found the website you landed on so annoying that you had to navigate away immediately? If you have then you are most definitely not on your own because millions of people have done the very same thing as a result of irritating or annoying design. There is no need for it at all, but if you have a website for your business or are considering getting one then you need to consider whether or not your web design is annoying because if it is then you may be losing potential customers in their thousands.
So what elements make websites so irritating or downright annoying that you should avoid them completely? Well, there are more elements than you may actually think without going to one. For example, do you not just hate it when home pages are jam packed full of advertisements, some of which take forever to load and slow down or freeze your computer? Yes? Well, that is two elements of web design to avoid right there because neither an excess of adverts nor an excessive loading time will endear your site to visitors. However, advertisements may be essential to keep your income up so instead you should incorporate them in the web design layout without overloading your page. Subtle adverts usually perform better.
