As we are preparing to end our China Tours, I am writing with an update on our activities and my key takeaways of Shanghai Vacations. Linda came to meet me at the hostel, and we booked a private room so that we could get some rest before embarking withChina Eastern on more adventures. That afternoon we went to a mall called Raffles City which is right off of People's Square to try out some yummy Japanese rice-based frozen desserts. My conclusion there is that when in doubt, everything is usually made of rice, and that you can make pretty much anything out of rice. After snacking, we went down to Nanjing Lu to go fake bag shopping (a staple of Shanghai, obviously), which was quite the experience in itself. My conclusion of this china travelexperience is that you can get a fake version of pretty much anything in China, and that everything is organized into levels. In the 3rd stop we made some purchases...and the funny thing is that the hidden showroom is actually super well-lit, and clean, and I was thinking the entire time ''this is not really undergroung....this is probably all sponsored by the tourism bureau''. But anyways, it was fun! In the afternoon we took a short nap, and then proceeded to experience the Shanghai nightlife. This city really comes alive at night. Today is our last day totravel to Shanghai, we are heading off to Hong Kong by train tomorrow, and from there we will attempt to find a flight into Cambodia. It has been virtually impossible to find reasonable prices for this flight so we are trying to rearrange our itinerary potentially to make it easier.
