Hey Matt, one good technique to implement is the title of your website. Most people make the mistake to have the business name, or company name in the title example: Welcome to My Website

This is pointless. If you want your website found by search engines for your business name there is no need to have it in the title since search engines will pick it up from your body text. Use your title tag for your keywords. For instance if you have a website that deals in car sales in Ohio for instance. Your title tag would have your keywords like this:

New Cars Ohio | Used Cars Ohio | Buy Cars Online | Sell Cars Online

That's 4 keywords in the title of your webpage and the first thing the search engines pick up when visiting your website. So it's a good idea to have some keywords there. Hope this helps! first onpage seo
second offpage seo

onpage seo : title, Descriptin, all meta tags, H tags and alt tag if required then do offpage seo
