 New dinosaurs are being found in the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, located in southern Utah. New dinosaurs include a new species of Oviraptor and a Ceratopsian, named Utahceratops. The Oviraptor reached lengths in excess of 12 feet, twice the size of any other known Oviraptor. Utahceratops boasts a totally original horn structure above the eyes that looks more like a modern bull, with the horns extruding out sideways from the head instead of forward. The Escalante National Monument is also a beautiful place to come and visit. We offer exclusive back country informative tours that guide and educate at previously excavated sites. One of our guides, David Rankin, has first hand experience working with Paleontologists, finding and excavating Pliosaurs, (a relative of the more widely known long necked Plesiosaur,) and educational public speaking.
