Calcutta University Distance Education is one of the oldest and top universities in India's capital city. Since it was established in 1857, the university has produced four Nobel laureates. The university consistently ranks among the top 500 universities in the world and has earned NAAC accreditation with an "A" Grade. Additionally, it is acknowledged by the U.G.C. and A.I.U., both of which are connected to AICTE. All of the instructional resources for the courses that the students have chosen are available via the Council of Distance Education. It has received the designations "University with Potential for Excellence" and "Centre with Potential for Excellence In Particular Area.
