Misty May-Treanor is widely regarded as one of the greatest beach volleyball players in history. Born on July 30, 1977, in Los Angeles, California, she grew up in a sports-oriented family. Her father, Butch May, qq88 was a member of the 1968 U.S. national volleyball team, which influenced her early passion for the sport. From a young age, Misty demonstrated exceptional athletic ability, eventually becoming a standout player in both indoor and beach volleyball.


May-Treanor attended Long Beach State University, where she played indoor volleyball for the 49ers. During her college career, she earned numerous accolades, including being named National Player of the Year in 1998. Her success at the collegiate level laid a strong foundation for her transition into professional beach volleyball, where she would achieve even greater fame.


The most defining partnership of her career came when she teamed up with Kerri Walsh Jennings. Together, the duo became one of the most dominant teams in the history of the sport. The pair won three consecutive Olympic gold medals at the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2008 Summer Olympics, and 2012 Summer Olympics. Throughout her career, Misty May-Treanor accumulated over 100 tournament victories on the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) tour, making her one of the most successful players in the sport’s history.
