Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the leader of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect, maintained a somewhat private family life. Ram rahim family included a wife named Harjeet Kaur and two daughters, Amarpreet and Charanpreet. However, he often referred to his millions of followers as his extended "family," claiming it to be the largest family in world.

Ram Rahim's followers, known as "Premis," were estimated to number around 65 million, primarily concentrated in North India. He asserted a deep bond with his followers, emphasizing spiritual teachings, social welfare programs, and community engagement within the sect.
