It would be impossible to achieve 3D printing without understanding the role of 3D print filament. These materials are the basis of 3D printing, and they determine the quality, strength, and aesthetic of a project.
It is important to understand that there are different types of filaments, and they each have unique qualities and different applications. Here are common types of filament for 3D printer processes.
PLA - this is the most common and affordable filament, and it is sourced from renewable sources. It is the easiest filament to work with.
PETG- this material is durable and transparent. It is tough and highly resistant to chemical abrasion. PETG offers higher flexibility, improved layer adhesion, and reduced warping.
ABS- this filament is popular for its durability, high temperature, and impact resistance. Compared to PLA, ABS is stronger and more flexible.
TPU - this filament is preferred for its elasticity and resistance to abrasion. TPU is also highly flexible.
