Upgrading to the Snapmaker 10W laser comes with several advantages to any creation process. For starters, the 10w laser module allows users to work on a wider range of materials, including but not limited to paper, MDF, and anodized aluminum.
Compared to the 1.6w laser, the 10w laser packs more power, thus making it easier to work on a variety of materials and thicknesses. Not to mention, a higher power output equals faster working speeds.
The 10w Snapmaker 2.0 laser also comes with an upgraded focus method that makes it significantly easier and faster to estimate the thickness of a given material. This is achieved through the triangulation technique, which uses data obtained from the camera and the light emitter.
The 10w laser module also has an upgraded camera capture process that makes it possible to obtain one picture instead of nine. Compared to the 1.6w laser module, the 10w laser offers a higher cutting depth of 8mm. In addition, it also comes with overheat detection and orientation detection features.
