The Ray laser cutter is a Snapmaker laser cutter available with a powerful 40-watt or 20-watt laser. While the 20w laser can readily cut through 10mm basswood, the 40w laser can cut through 20mm (3/4-inch) chunks of wood in a single pass. Its 400 by 600mm cutting service and movable leg mechanism enable it to etch and cut through thicker materials, such as chopping boards or boxes. Although an enclosure is not included with the Ray, one can be purchased separately, and it features an auto shut-off mechanism that stops the laser when the lid is opened.
