Everything Else
Heat pump dryers use a refrigeration-based system to recover and reuse heat within the drying process. Instead of continuously exhausting heated air and replacing it with newly heated air, the system can recirculate process air while removing moisture and recovering thermal energy. This makes heat pump drying particularly interesting for applications where controlled temperature and energy use are important considerations. The technology can be applied to food products, agricultural materials, wood, textiles, herbs, and other products requiring relatively gentle drying conditions. Drying performance depends on air temperature, humidity, airflow, product characteristics, moisture load, and heat pump operating conditions. The lower-temperature environment can also be useful when excessive heat may affect the colour, aroma, texture, or other properties of the material. Industrial system design should therefore consider both the product's drying behaviour and the required moisture-removal capacity.
