What is a PLC?

A Programmable Logic Controller is an industrial computer designed to control and automate manufacturing processes, machines, and production lines. Unlike traditional computers, PLCs are built to operate reliably in harsh industrial environments with exposure to dust, vibration, electrical noise, and extreme temperatures.

PLCs collect data from sensors, switches, and other input devices, process the information based on programmed instructions, and activate outputs such as motors, valves, conveyors, and alarms. This real-time control ensures smooth and efficient plant operations.
