How to Switch Seasons in Forza Horizon 6

  Garage Sale

If you have been driving around the global online free-roam world in Forza Horizon 6, you already know the deal: you cannot just hit a button in the menu and instantly swap the weather. The main game relies entirely on a live, global server rotation that automatically refreshes and changes the season every single Thursday. It keeps the community unified, but let's be honest—sometimes you just don't want to wait an entire real-world week to experience a different vibe.

Whether you are trying to test out a specific car tuning for wet asphalt, looking for that perfect snowy backdrop for a photo shoot, or trying to rush through completion goals, being stuck in the server's choice can be frustrating. Luckily, there are a couple of solid workarounds to bypass this restriction. Depending on what you are trying to achieve, you can use either an official in-game tool or an offline system trick.

Method 1: The EventLab Blueprint (Safe & Official)

If your goal is to freely roam the map, test out your latest car tunings, or take beautiful photos in a specific season without messing with your main game progression, the EventLab blueprint route is your best bet. It is entirely official, completely safe, and gives you total control over the environment.

  1. Find a starting point: Drive up to any race start point marked on your map, or simply open up Anna's menu and select the World Builder option.

  2. Initiate creation: Choose the option to Create a Route and select the car you want to drive or test.

  3. Set up your playground: Drive a short distance away from the starting line and place down a finish line. (Tip: Place the finish line slightly off the main road so you don't accidentally cross it while you are out exploring.)

  4. Configure the settings: Pull up the EventLab configuration menu and head directly into the Event Settings.

  5. Clear the roads: Turn the Max Number of Drivatars setting to Off. This completely removes all AI traffic, giving you an empty map all to yourself.

  6. Pick your season: Adjust the Season and Weather parameters to match your exact preference. Want a beautiful autumn drive or a slippery winter run? Set it right here.

  7. Launch the test: Start up the test race. As long as you avoid crossing that finish line you placed down earlier, you can drive across the entire map in your chosen custom season for as long as your heart desires.

Method 2: The Offline Time-Skip Workaround (For Playlists)

Now, what if you aren't just trying to take photos, but are actually trying to speed through time to hit seasonal objectives? If you are aiming to complete specific seasonal challenges—like the Discover Japan challenges—without waiting weeks for the servers to roll over naturally, you can force your game client into an offline time loop.

  • Step 1: Disconnect your hardware: Completely disconnect your PC or console from the internet. You will need to physically unplug your ethernet cable or turn off your Wi-Fi in the system network settings.

  • Step 2: Kill the app: Fully exit and close out of the Forza Horizon 6 application. Make sure it isn't just suspended or running in the background.

  • Step 3: Adjust your system clock: Open up your console or operating system settings and manually shift the system date forward. Move it in increments of 7 days (for example, advancing one, two, or three weeks) until you hit the date configuration for the specific season you need.

  • Step 4: Boot it back up: Relaunch the game. Because you are completely disconnected from the live servers, the client will look at your system clock and load locally into the corresponding season.

Using these two tricks, you are no longer strictly bound by the Thursday server rotations. Use the EventLab method whenever you want a stress-free testing session or photo mode opportunity, and resort to the offline time-skip when you have playlist rewards to catch up on!
