POE 2 Preparation Guide for 1.0 Players U4N Aurent

  Garage Sale

Path of Exile 2 is heading toward its full 1.0 release on December 11, 2026. For players preparing for the launch, POE 2 Items are useful for learning how gear affects leveling, damage, and survivability. The current Early Access period is less about building a permanent collection and more about understanding the systems that will matter after the fresh start.

Learning how to evaluate POE 2 Items now can make the first days of 1.0 much easier. Players can practice identifying useful stats, deciding when an upgrade is worth the cost, and understanding which equipment works best with different skills. That experience will remain useful even after the current economy is replaced.

Use the 0.5.5 Event as Practice

Patch 0.5.5 will introduce a temporary event league with a fully reset economy. This is a good chance to experience fresh progression before the full release arrives.

Try treating the event like a practice run for 1.0. Start with a build you are comfortable using and pay attention to how quickly you move through the campaign. You can also test different classes and see which ones feel strongest with limited resources.

A fresh economy is especially useful for learning when to spend and when to save. Not every upgrade needs to be purchased immediately, and understanding this balance can make early progression smoother.

Master the Core Systems

The current Early Access version gives players plenty of time to practice Path of Exile 2's combat systems. The dodge roll is particularly important because good movement can prevent damage and make difficult encounters much more manageable.

Gold management is another system worth learning before launch. Instead of spending resources automatically, consider whether each purchase provides a meaningful improvement.

Spirit management should also become familiar. As different skills and effects interact with Spirit, understanding how to allocate the resource will make build planning easier.

Prepare for New Classes and Skills

The 1.0 launch will introduce major additions, including the Duelist class and dedicated sword weapon skills. These changes give players more options when choosing a starter character.

There is no need to lock yourself into a final build yet. Balance changes and additional information could change the strongest options before December. It is better to prepare several possible builds and adjust your choice once the final details are available.

Improve Your Leveling Route

Acts 5 and 6 will expand the campaign, making efficient progression more important. Use the current acts to practice movement, quest routing, equipment upgrades, and resource management.

You do not need to chase the fastest possible route. A consistent strategy that avoids unnecessary detours and deaths is often more useful for a real launch.

Watch the Final Announcements

GGG Live on August 27 and ExileCon on November 7–8 should reveal more information about balance changes, Ascendancy adjustments, and the 1.0 league mechanic.

Final Preparation

The best preparation for 1.0 is knowledge rather than excessive investment. Learn the campaign, practice combat, test different classes, and understand how the economy works. Once the fresh economy begins, knowing how to manage your resources will be more valuable than anything currently sitting in your stash. Players planning their early progression can also consider how cheap POE 2 Orbs might fit into their resource strategy when the new economy becomes established.
