Healing Through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy Frederick

  Health - Beauty - Fitness

A systematic psychotherapy technique called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy is intended to assist people in processing and recovering from traumatic events and other upsetting life situations. To help reprocess traumatic memories and lessen their psychological impact, Francine Shapiro developed EMDR in the late 1980s. EMDR normally involves guided eye movements for bilateral stimulation. To help the brain recover itself, the therapist guides the client's eye movements during recollection sessions of traumatic experiences.
