Can I listen to the Quran while Reading a Book?

  Other Services

It is acceptable to read a book and listen to the Quran simultaneously. Nothing expressly forbids you from doing so.

On the other hand, when hearing or reciting the Quran, it is crucial to act with the appropriate respect and concentration.

Muslims place a great deal of weight on the Quran because they consider it to be the message of Allah. As such, when interacting with the Quran, it is advised to establish a respectful and concentrated environment.

To maintain adequate concentration and reverence for the Quran, it may be preferable to prioritize and arrange different times for each activity if one feels unable to give both reading another book and reciting the Quran their complete attention.
