The Government of India has implemented various child nutrition programmes that cater to the basic nourishment needs of every child. NGOs such as Bal Raksha Bharat (also known as Save the Children) work in alignment with the government’s mission of providing adequate nourishment and healthcare to every child, no matter who they are or where they come from.
To accomplish this, Save the Children India has launched various child nutrition programmes in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, NITI Aayog, State Governments, and some research and academic institutions. The organisation also works towards strengthening factors that affect children’s health and nutrition. These factors include access to clean water & sanitation, hygiene practices, adequate dietary intake, and more.
