Caravans and motorhomes have special fire hazards because of enclosed space and gas equipment. Fit smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and check them regularly. Keep fire extinguishers easily accessible. Inspect gas pipes for leaks every trip. Never restrict escape routes with equipment or luggage. Turn off gas appliances when not in use, and ventilate when cooking indoors. Develop an evacuation plan and drill with all users.
