How does the world define numerology?

Numerology, also known as numerology, is a pseudoscientific belief in the divine and mystical religious relationship between numbers and events. This idea also investigates the correlation between the number of letters in names and spiritual things. This idea is often associated with the paranormal, along with astrology and other similar arts of divination.

Its adherents place faith in numerical patterns and draw pseudoscientific conclusions from them, even if they do not practice traditional numerology. For example, in his 1997 book Numerology: Or What Pythagoras Wrought, mathematician Underwood Dudley uses the term to discuss practitioners of the Elliott wave principle in stock market analysis.

What is pseudoscience?

Skeptics of this subject believe that numbers have no mystical meaning and cannot themselves influence a person's life. Skeptics therefore consider numerology a superstition and a pseudoscience that uses numbers to give the subject an aura of scientific authority.

At least two studies have investigated claims about numerology, both with negative results: one in the UK in 1993, and one in 2012 in Israel. British experiment with 96 people and found no correlation between the number 7 and self-reported psychic abilities. The trial in Israel involved a professional numerologist and 200 participants, and was designed to test the validity of numerology diagnoses of learning disabilities, such as dyslexia and dyslexia. ADHD, and autism. The experiment was repeated twice and still gave negative results.

Method systems in numerology

Alphabet system:

There are many different numerology systems that assign numerical values to the letters of the alphabet. Examples include Abjad numerals in Arabic, Hebrew numerals, Armenian numerals, and Greek numerals. The practice in the Jewish tradition of assigning mystical meaning to words based on their numerical values and on the relationships between words of equal value, is called gematria.

Latin alphabet system:

There are many different numerology systems that use the Latin alphabet. Various methods of interpretation exist, including Chaldean, Pythagorean, Hebraic, Helyn Hitchcock's method, Phonetic, Japanese, Arabic and Indian.

Pythagorean system:

This method can be called Western numerology or Pythagorean numerology. Pythagoras began his theory of numbers by discovering the relationship between numbers and musical notes. He discovered that oscillations in string instruments could be explained mathematically. The Pythagorean method uses an individual's name and date of birth. The name number reveals the external nature of the individual. This is the personality they present to the outside world.
