In 1981, the University of Madras established a highly regarded Directorate of Distance Education to help students achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals. With over 25 years of experience in distance education, the Directorate currently offers a diverse range of programs, including sixteen undergraduate courses, twenty-two postgraduate courses following the CBCS pattern, as well as sixteen diploma and sixteen certificate courses.
