A lot of experience is required for best results when using filament PETG. Normally, experience is characterized by various hacks on functionality. For instance, an experienced manufacturer knows the importance of preparing the print bed before initiating a print job when using any PETG filament. Also, one must be keen with the printing temperature to avoid fluctuations to lower ends such as below 230°C and above 250°C because the most appropriate temperature range for PETG filaments is between 230°C and 250°C.
Additionally, cooling is not necessary for PETG filaments. Therefore, the manufacturer must ensure the cooling fan is kept at a lower speed to avoid colder temperatures which might result in warping. Other settings needed for better results when using filament PETG are retraction settings which are also different from other materials. For PETG filaments, a retraction distance of 1-2 mm is recommended to minimize the chances of looping and oozing.
