Of course, pros go deeper. Gemologists bring out microscopes, refractometers, and certificates. They can catch treatments, dyes, and heat work. Still, even they admit certainty isn’t always absolute.
Intuition always matters. Hold enough stones and you start to notice a rhythm. The weight, the coolness, the way light plays inside. Your gut picks up cues science sometimes misses.
In the end, no single trick guarantees truth. But when you layer careful observation with professional checks and a little intuition, the picture gets clearer. Real gemstones carry flaws, depth, and presence. Fakes copy the look, but rarely the soul.
